Stephen Richey, PT

Stephen has been a physiotherapist for 15 years, graduating from Dalhousie University. Stephen has worked in both the private and public sectors, primarily as a private community physiotherapist.

Stephen has long had a passion for the education of physiotherapists, having taught in a variety of roles at Dalhousie University for over 13 years and receiving a Master’s in Education in Curriculum Studies from Acadia University. Most recently, he’s been a full-time instructor with the Dalhousie School of Physiotherapy.

Stephen is a strong advocate for the profession of physiotherapy, having served as the Nova Scotia Physiotherapy Association President, Chair of the Nova Scotia Physiotherapy Advisory Group, Chair of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association’s Branch President’s Forum, and member of the Written Item Generation Team for CAPR.

For his work for the profession Stephen has been recognized with a number of awards, including one of the 100 Canadian Physiotherapy Association Medals of Distinction in 2020.
